This is mostly a place holder to get myself in gear but everyone has to start somewhere. Please to enjoy this partial issue of Toledo Rock City

I’m currently Working on Issue 001 of the upcoming TRC magazine that will drop the 20th of this month and I have one page that I’m still not sure what I’m going to put on it, so I thought I would turn to you all to fill it.

“Page six is an open space for anything the public would like to put there, a short story, single panel comic, random art, a picture you took at a local concert are just some ideas.

If you have a submission message me here or feel free to email me at toledorockcity@gmail.com

If I decide to put your creation in the magazine I will make sure you are credited and I will give you a print copy of the issue if you would like.

As of 7/28 I’ve heard from Good Personalities, Decapitus, The Casket Company, Light Horizon, Canceled Out, Decades Past, UnlabeledConstricted, Deadly Yeti, Silver Age, Nuaudio and The Kerplunks. I’m waiting to hear from about six more bands to round out the recordings at 18 bands this year. My full list of bands I’m hoping to get is on the Facebook page right now but if there are any additions I should add to it let me know.

I just spent many an hour exploring the depths of Bandcamp as I like to do from time to time and found a bunch of awesome music from around the world. So here is a short list of some awesome hardcore/metal/and more for your listening and downloading pleasure. Also be sure to let me know what you think of these bands as I want to do more posts like this and want to get an idea of what TRC followers want to hear. I’ll hope to see you all at TMF ’15, but until then keep supporting local and independent music!

I can’t lie, I bought this for the cover. The majority of what I buy from allied on my exploratory missions is usually based on cover but this album more so. Besides the cover though there was a hand written label on the front that said “This is great – crossover/core kinda heavy!”. Seeing as someone took the time to write that on it, it’s what sealed the deal for me and it was added to my already towering stack of 99 cent CDs. Unfortunatly my car has no radio at the moment so i had to wait to get home and import it into my computer to listen to it. This defiantly goes near the top of some of my favorite finds ever.

Superchrist has five tracks plus a bonus live track and every one rocks. SBC started in Boston in 1988 and continued playing until 2000 with a few reunion shows after that. Based only on what I’ve herd in this album they fall pretty nicely in the hardcore/metal genre. Every song is solid on it and the art on it is what sells it for me the most. If you ever run into a copy on your travels I suggest picking it up.

Track List:

1. Superchrist

2. Ninth Circle

3. Come To Me My Lovely

4. Swing

5. Sheer Heart Attack

6. Bonus Live Stuff

I cannot guarantee I will make it to all of these but this is my current concert list for this summer.
